The organ was built in the period 1802-1806 by Rudolf Knol. Upon completion, it had 26 registers divided over two manuals. It was (and remained) “Magnus Opus” of organ builder Rudolf Knol. The organ was noted for it strong ground tone, loud reeds and fine voices. In 1914 it was modified to the sound ideoligy and norms of that era. During a complete restauration of the church in 1964, it was decided upon that the organ should be brought back to its original specifications of 1806 and supplemented with a pedalboard.
